DXC Technology Technical Architect, AX in Any City, Florida

•Will be part of one or multiple teams that will implement Dynamics AX solutions for Tribridge customers utilizing Tribridge Methodology.

•Majority of the time will be spent executing tasks related to the software development lifecycle.

•Typically be operating in complex and fast-paced environments, with each project potentially including a unique mix of technical tasks and responsibilities and all requiring pro-activeness, extroversion and strong communication skills.

•Responsible for leading the development resources of a project team for new implementations as well as major and minor upgrade projects.

•To a lesser degree participate in a support roster.

•Ensures that all activities are carried out in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

•Act as a bridge between all departments within the AX Practice, including Sales, Customer Support, and Partners.

•Serves as an internal subject matter expert and supports all company activities including but not limited to system implementations, integrations, and process consultations.

•May be engaged in pre-sales activities, and is also expected to participate in team building and to develop team and customer relationships.

•May be requested to be a Peer Partner to newly hired team members, to train, guide and coach developers, and to participate in knowledge sharing activities.

•Proactively look for ways to keep all time productive and will use non-customer time for personal training, internal projects and administrative tasks.

•Reports to a Director, Practice Manager or a senior team member.

•Utilizes applicable Tribridge Methodology phases, activities and tasks to deliver quality work products for clearly defined projects.

•Fully understands documentation standards, and able to create documentation required as part of a technical engagement.

•Responds promptly and professionally to customer requests or inquiries and seeks guidance from Project or other management as appropriate.

•May assist on QA of non-related projects .

•QA’s project efforts and documentation to ensure project decisions/deliverables are sound.

•Trains junior resources in relation to technical tasks and concepts.

•May be expected to perform project management duties on smaller, less complex projects (develop project plans, manage budget/actual and scope of work, approval of project-related T&E).

•Provides excellent service to internal and external customers. Keeps customers up-to-date on the progress of the service they are receiving and changes that may effect them.

•Prioritizes customer issues and addresses most pressing concerns.

•Utilizes both formal and informal channels to facilitate the progress of work. Interprets and integrates multifaceted information from varied sources on a range of complex issues.

•Provides expertise and support in relation to the establishment of non-production and production environments. As part of such, makes high-level recommendations in relation to hardware sizing, software upgrades and incorporates performance, scalability, reliability, and security considerations. Work in close collaboration with dedicated infrastructure resources throughout different phases of a project.

•Generally governs environments and ensures they stay in synch where applicable, or assist other resources with such.

•Performs downstream database refreshes and as part of such scripted reconfiguration of AX within the target database, or assist infrastructure resources with such.

•Development lifecycle management

•Develops or provides key input to design, development and build release management policies.

•Manages local and off-shore project resources, utilizing different outsourcing models available to the business. Off-shore resources are located within a different time-zone and liaison outside normal business hours is sometimes required.

•Understands and enforces components of the Tribridge project implementation methodology particularly relating to the development lifecycle. Leverage Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services where applicable.

•Provides input to process adjustments where required.

•Assists in ensuring that the collaboration prerequisites required as part of the development lifecycle are met. This includes tools for tracking of design, estimation, development and testing progress.

•Utilize Visual Studio with Team Foundation Server, on-premise or online editions, as the main tools for management of the development lifecycle.

•Provides input to the establishment of data migration and integration strategies.

•Assists with data migration designs, issue technical designs and perform DIXF-related development, and migrate data using DIXF, or assist other resources with all of these.

•Assists with integration designs, issue technical designs and perform integration related developments. This may include exposure to components external to AX and include .NET, BizTalk.

•Provides technical input to, review and quality assure functional/integration/data migration designs from a technical perspective. Functional knowledge is required to perform this and other duties. Data migration is typically a separate work stream.

•Provides input to, review and quality assure technical designs. Develop technical designs, also in relation to data migration and integration designs.

•Reviews development estimation break down structure. Perform development estimations utilizing an advanced estimation sheet provided.

•Plans and executes technical design and development kick-off sessions.

•Demonstrates proficiency in practice technology. In particular provide support and expertise on development technologies.

•Understands business processes and relate knowledge to product functionality. To a lesser degree collect functional requirements and produce functional design documents.

•Quality assures developments, not limited to code reviews, ensuring conformance with established standards. Perform developments.

•Provides updates on development progress.

•Plans build release cycles, or assist build master with such.

•Frequently merges development branches, provide conflict resolutions, synchronize to staging environment and perform build releases to various environment, or assist build master with such.

•As part of agile execution, organizes and executes sprint planning meetings, including definition and creation of sprint backlogs, organizes and executes daily sprint cycle/stand-up meetings, technical preview, and post mortems. Execution of standby-meetings may coincide with project scrum activities.

Minimum Requirements – Education, Skill & Abilities:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience

•5 years of Dynamics AX development experience, including 2 years of experience with Dynamics AX 2012.

•3 years in the partner channel.

•Participation in 2 full cycle implementations.

•Successfully acted as technical lead/technical architect/lead developer on at least 1 large-size project with an engagement of 6+ months,and 1 mid-size project with an engagement of 3+ months.

•Expert experience with X++ and CIL debugging

•Intermediate experience with Dynamics AX Reporting (SSRS)

•Intermediate experience with Workflow for Dynamics AX.

•Intermediate experience with Dynamics AX AIF.

•Intermediate experience with IDMF for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

•Knowledge of C#, .NET.

•Intermediate experience with core business processes.

•Intermediate ability in installing Microsoft Dynamics AX and underlying infrastructure requirements.

•Excellent communication and relationship building skills

•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Requirements– Education, Skill & Abilities:

•Certifications: Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 Development introduction, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Installation and configuration, Administering Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ Databases, Managing Microsoft Dynamics Implementations (Sure Step).

•8+ years of Dynamics AX development experience, including 3 years of experience with Dynamics AX 2012. Exposure to R2 and R3.

•6+ years in the partner channel.

•Expert experience with Dynamics AX Reporting (SSRS) .

•Expert experience with Workflow for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

•Expert experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX Services and AIF

•Intermediate to expert experience with Enterprise Portal for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

•Expert experience with IDMF for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

•Proficiency in C#, .NET.

•Expert experience with core business processes.

Working Environment:

•Office/Home Environment or Customer Site

•Up to 75% travel to Customer sites dependent on practice and geography of project assignment.May include overnight or additional driving time. 100% travel can be expected in smaller defined timeframes.
